So, for one reason or another I've become curious about Veganism. I like the idea of eating less meat, I like the challenge of cooking food from scratch which you kind of have to do to eat well as a vegan, but mostly I discovered CASHEW CHEESE. I was considering going vegan for febfast but then I also wanted to lose weight so I was just going to cut out gin, mayonnaise and bacon.
But then I heard about the MS diet which is essentially vegan but with fish and no processed oils (kind of... more to it than that obvs). I've heard it's great for health but also that weight "drops off you".
I hate that phrase but hear it a lot. The weight will drop off when you: breastfeed, don't eat carbs, fast two days a week, quit sugar. I've done all four and no. No it bloody well doesn't. Not for me anyway. The only time weight "dropped off me" was when I: 1) took these speedy diet pills that nearly sent me insane, 2) had giardia, & 3) got my heart massively broken and forgot to eat for a couple of weeks because I was too busy crying in the shower.
None of which are healthy. So, let's go fish/vegan/oilfree sensible for 30 days and also get back to doing some token exercise. Easy (not easy).
But also - gin.
I'll be happy just to lose a bit of flab and fit into dresses that I can't afford to rebuy or at least not have to wear quite such heavy spanx to fit in them.
I also think we generally should eat less meat and processed food. That's a no brainer, yes? I'm not giving up meat forever. I'm not a fan of 'forever'.
So next post is all about my prep making sauces and finding a decent mayonnaise replacement.
